PRAXIS: JUNE 2026

Three times a year we like to pause and consider the Lord’s invitation to step deeper into community and serving. Our communal values are the ways in which we seek to embody our identity as the Church. These cultural standards create a scaffolding that enables individuals whom God has drawn together to make up the fabric of this community and offer their stories, personalities, and gifts to the larger whole in a way that we can all grow together. Thank you for your interest and prayerful consideration. Our leaders will reach out to you shortly after the submission window closes. Keep in mind, your submission(s) on this form only indicate interest of further information, and not a commitment to sign up for the offerings.

Want To Know More About Us?

If you're a newcomer to City Beautiful Church and would like get to know us a bit more, please sign up for the Embark meeting after our Sunday gathering. Embark is a time for you to ask questions, learn about our church community, share a little about yourself, and then go out to an optional lunch together as a group, following the meeting. Next Embark is Sunday, February 22nd!

DISCIPLESHIP

Weekly group meetings where our communal bonds deepen with each other and with Christ. We're looking to build a new group out of those who sign up.

If you're interested in guidance or help deepening your spiritual journey, sign up for a one-on-one spiritual direction session with Pastor Ryan Adams.

Pipes, Pints, and Parables
A Men’s Reading and Discussion Group

Ryan will host a monthly men’s group centered around a deep dive into poet/priest Malcolm Guite’s epic poem “Galahad and The Grail”, the first in a series of books that plum Arthurian legend for Christian truths.

Readings will be assigned each month, and we will gather at Ryan’s house for discussion. The book can be purchased in physical or audiobook form. Pipes and pints are welcome at the gathering, but not mandated.

This group will aim to begin in August. Sign up now for more information.

SERVING WITHIN

We believe that serving can be healing, especially when we move away from thinking about obligations and more toward devotion to God and to one another. Our serving opportunities are a way for you to worship with your hands while learning how to care for others in practical ways. In order to honor that healing posture, we recommend only serving on 1 team at a time (2 teams max).

Greenhouse is looking for 6-7 new team members! 4-5 members to serve in Seedlings and 2 to serve in Sunflowers. This team serves and works with the kids in our church. The Greenhouse mission strives "to raise children into living relationship with Jesus, and to cultivate healthy families."

Ops is looking for 2-3 new members! This team serves our whole community by doing set up and tear down for our Sunday gatherings. The team mission: "to create a physical space of peace and freedom for all people to experience the Lord."

This team is looking for 4 new members, ideally 2 Producers and 2 ProPresenter Input/Operators (Visuals). Learn a new skill or use the gifts you already have. The Tech team strives "to facilitate, enhance, and remove obstacles to people worshipping God through the use of technology."

Being the hands and feet of Jesus by building and creating connections with visitors and attendees. The team mission is "to practice a radical hospitality that welcomes everyone, so we may all find belonging in the family of God."

Leading and creating an atmosphere for our church community to engage in musical worship, to bless King Jesus. The team mission is “To create moments to encounter God through the vessel of music.”

We are assembling a team of creatives to help tell the story of our church and to elevate our worship experience. This team will be project-based in the near future (such as documenting what Sunday gatherings are like, or decorating for special holidays), but we hope to also host periodic creative meet-ups to discuss the value of creativity in faith and to participate in making.
